2/28/99 3:30 PM Harper's Pier A 20' boat is tied to the pilings and SINKING!  The boat is 3/4 submerged.  Today,  I had two rare sightings.  East of the pier in 40' of water, we located a family of PACIFIC SPINY LUMPSUCKERS, one adult and baby sharing a moon snail "shell-ter".  In the same area, a 16" True or PACIFIC COD was cruising the bottom.  The dive itself is pretty silty.
3/5/99 AM Seacrest, Cove 1 Another reported 6 Gill Sighting, this time at 109 feet! Only a few feet of visibility.
3/10/99 8PM 100' Rock, Lynnwood The waters are thick with krill swarming to our dive lights.
3/17/99 3PM Sunrise Beach 1 Pacific Giant Octopus cannibal, an overly aggressive juvy wolf eel, and a dive buddy who is now nursing a hand with multiple octopus hickies!
4/07/99 8:30PM Seacrest A couple of the guys from Discount Diver's Supply saw several octos and had a harbor seal follow them around, feeding off the stunned fish in their dive lights!  Cove 2
4/99 Edmonds ? Seattle The Edmonds/Kingston ferry was delayed this month for several gray whales in the vicinity and the Seattle Times has recently run a photo of a gray whale in front of the Downtown piers.
4/10 Zee's Reef, Fox Island Some boat divers had a gray whale surface just 50' from their boat while moored and some divers were still in the water!
4/24 9AM West Seattle, Lincoln Park Another gray whale sighted just 200 feet from shore!
4/30 6 PM West Seattle 1/4 mile north of Lincoln Park, I spotted a gray whale resting 150' off shore in 15' deep water.  As he drifted with the current, I went for a dive...  I'm still waiting to get that shot of a lifetime.... ej
5/12 Gig Harbor 2 med size grey whales feeding at the mouth of gig harbor. They left south bound just off the shore line in the kelp beds to the narrows bridge.  Thanks Dave, for the sighting!
6/19 Seacrest, W. Seattle A 9' six-gill at 100' near the I-beams again!  Reportedly, it has a distinguishable scar.
6/23 West Seattle A gray whale sighted halfway between Blake Island and W. Seattle
8/10 PM West Seattle She's back! I have heard of at least 5 separate 6-gill shark sightings at Seacrest off Cove 1 during the past 6 weeks...
